Garfield Minus Garfield

Few things achieve this level of genius. I am ordering you to go to http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/ now. I quote the site:

Garfield Minus Garfield is a site dedicated to removing Garfieldfrom the Garfield comic strips in order to reveal the existential angstof a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle. It is a journey deep into the mindof an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle againstloneliness and depression in a quiet American suburb.

I am officially addicted. So you should all be.

cartoon dump

All I'm gonna say is I hope someone makes Adult Swim aware of Frank Conniff and Jerry Beck's CARTOON DUMP. It's basically the cloned bastard incest-derived mutant baby of Pee Wee's playhouse's King of Cartoons and ... well i think we better leave that poor wretched victim out of it.

funny stuff- PLUS! ACTUAL vintage brain-damaged cartoons. Now I have a big issue with them charging 2 bucks per episode. C'MON GUYS!! EVER HEARD OF PODCASTS? OY. At least the episodes are free to watch on their site- or to embed below. Yeah I know, free to embed, free to watch but you gotta pay 2 bucks to ...download. Er. YEah. Anyway, I love the show. Give it a shot if you're a lover of weird cartoons and kiddie show dementia.

Sven Hoek Dialogue Scene

Sven Hoek Dialogue Scene
Uploaded by lyris

from John Krickfalusi's blog post, "
What's Not To Love About Insanity?":

"This scene in Sven Hoek was inspired by a real life event. Ren's line delivery is an imitation of someone who had an episode in the original Spumco studio - in my office. After it happened I ran to get my Sven Hoek storyboard and changed a whole scene to make it more intense and real. That's what real life events are for! Many of them are much crazier than anything you can imagine in a cartoon, so I take advantage of them when they happen."

"One complaint I get from many executives is that my cartoons are too unrealistic. They don't know how wrong they are."

"Those darn Chinese Products..." or "Darkie or Darlie, it's Flouride protection that's the IMPORTANT THING>"

So of course, we're all versed in the newest product scare; the tainted Chinese toothpaste. But hey, those goofy cut-ups in the people's republic don't have to put melamine in the chicken feed, etc. to be , well... really questionable in their ideas how to make products. Perhaps some sensitivity training? Or maybe just stay out of the toothpaste business altogether? I'm just saying...
